Alert Management

Alert Management

Overview

Alerts is a real-time monitoring screen that enables Camber users to proactively receive focused alerts to manage their electric fleet chargers. Users create data driven alerts for their chargers and select their alert’s delivery instructions. When the events occur, users are notified via email or text message as outlined in their alert’s delivery window and frequency instructions.

Alerts, called “Alert Management” in Camber Core, can be accessed within the Real-time data portion of the navigation bar on the left.

Data threshold

Charger status: Multi-select status Faulted and/or Not reporting

  • 10 minute

  • Hourly

Notifies users when an individual piece of data about their asset(s) crosses a certain threshold.

An example of this includes Charger status offline which might prevent the charger from being able to perform a charge session.

Target SOC: provide a 0 to 100% value
  • Specific time of day and week

  1. Charge session interrupted: lets users know when a charging session is interrupted due to a charger fault so that they are notified that their vehicle is no longer charging as expected.

  2. Target SOC: lets users know when a target battery state of charge has been reached during a charging session so that they know when their vehicle is ready for service.

Alerts can be created by clicking the “Add Alert” button in the top right of the screen. Once clicked the options to add an alert will appear on the right of the screen.

Entry

Customers

For users with access to multiple Valence tenants in a hierarchy, tenants can be added in a multi-select way

Recipients

Recipients can be any combination of Valence users and non Valence users. Multiple recipients can be added to the same alert.

Camber Core user recipients

  • Camber Core users will be pulled from the tenant user list in which the alert is being created. Selecting a user will populate their existing email address and phone number.

  • If a Valence user doesn’t have a phone number, the user will be prompted to add a phone number to their user record or be asked to add them as a non Valence user

Non Camber Core user recipients

  • Users can enter First name, Last name, Phone number and Email.

Asset ID’s

The individual assets that are tied to the alert (multi-select, meaning all options can be chosen for the same alert.) Names of individual assets are the Valence user provided asset names.

If users select “all assets”, any charger asset added to Camber Core for that tenant will also be included in the report without the user having to take action.

Example:

  • User selects “all chargers” for their report on 12/1/2022 at 2:30 PM Pacific.

  • User’s tenant adds 10 chargers on 1/1/2024.

  • Those 10 new assets will also be included in that same alert without the user having to take any action.

Alert type

See alert types table

Trigger Frequency

Available options depend on the alert type- see alert types table for details. Across all alerts the three potential delivery frequencies are:

  1. 10 minute

  2. Hourly

  3. Specific time of day and week

Alert name

User provided name of alert. Alert names must be unique.

Timezone

Timezone used for sending alerts which defaults to the timezone of user creating the alert. Timezone specified here will be used for all recipients of the alert regardless of their timezone.

Trigger Time Window

To ensure that alerts are only delivered based on user’s preference, the delivery time window is configureable for each alert. Users can select:

  • Day(s) of week

  • Time window within the days

Example: Deliver this alert Monday and Wednesdays between 8 AM - 5 PM Pacific

Alert occurrences that occur outside of delivery time window will still be categorized but won’t be sent until delivery time window opens.

If user selects the delivery frequency “specific time of day and week” the delivery time window option will not be available for the alert

Notification type

Valid options are:

  • Email

  • Email & SMS

  • SMS

To create the alert, users must click the green “Submit” button. Alert creation progress will be saved as a draft if user clicks into another part of the Alerts management screen but will be lost if a user refreshes the page or navigates to another screen within the product.

Editing an Alert

After alert(s) have been created they will populate in the alert table within the “Alert Rules” tab where details about a given alert rule will be shown. To manage the alert, scroll to the far left of the table and click the edit button.
